Provence & Spain

This river cruise was the best we've ever had. AMA Waterways went way beyond the normal for its passengers. We had 3 days in Barcelona, with sightseeing and exploring including Montserrat. Then a bus trip to Arles and onto the AmaDagio for 7 nights. This ship is an older one in their fleet but it is in pristine condition.
The beds were very comfortable, the shower was perfect, and I can't say enough about the food. 5* is what every meal was, from perfectly done beef tenderloin, oysters in the shell, escargot and frogs legs, and an Alfredo linguini with shaved truffles. The wine was free flowing at lunch and dinner, all local varieties. I could go on and on about this but there's more to say.
Our tour director Helene Teboul is a sweetheart and a gem with all the knowledge of the various areas we visited. She knew every passengers name after the first day, and handled every question with diplomacy and tact. The crew were very attentive to your every need and always smiling.
We had a choice of included tours every day with talented guides, lots of fun.
After disembarking in Lyon we rode the TGV To Paris for 3 more nights. Lots of touring and exploring were on the agenda.
The cruise package was reasonably priced and was a very enjoyable 14 days. Take this one if you want a good variety of included excursions, great food and wines, and well run ship.
